“The Crave Approach: Focusing on the health of our clients’ skin & overall wellness”.
We are surrounded by inflammatory foods, free radicals, stress and chemicals in our environment which can really affect our skin. Your skin is a reflection of what is going on with your body. We use principles of TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and Holistic Nutrition to help investigate any skin concerns you may have.
There are many factors to consider when maintaining the health of your skin:
- Skin Type
- Gut Health
- Hormones
- Environment
- Current Products being used
- Stress
- Diet
- Current Skincare
- Medication
- Genetics
- Aging
We take a holistic approach when treating your skin by looking at various factors to determine the correct skincare, treatments and lifestyle changes we feel will improve the health of your skin. Some clients may just love the relaxation aspect of a facial treatment and do not require extensive research while other clients may need help with a chronic issue.
Either way we want to be the best support system for you, your skin and health.

How to get clear skin with the Crave Approach..
Inflammation is a major cause of health and skin issues such as acne. When you decrease inflammation in your body you will see major improvement of your skin, energy levels and overall health. Your body can only handle so much toxic load before it starts showing signs of underlying issues.
Something as simple as reducing dairy will yield great results in decreasing the heat and acne on your skin.
There are many factors that affect your health and skin such as issues with the gut-brain-skin axis which are linked to ptsd, stress, poor diet and lifestyle.
What is the gut-skin-brain axis? This article cited in the database of The National Institutes of Health (NIH) | (.gov) it sheds light on the direct relationships of these interrelated body systems.
We dive into what your skin and body needs in order to be at optimal health. When you body is happy so is your skin.
“In the last decade, the gut-skin-brain axis has emerged as a research field offering more and more evidence on the way foods and intestinal microbiota can affect the development of intestinal/skin diseases (1), and neurological-psychiatric-psychological disorders (2). The possibility to prevent and/or treat these pathological conditions by modulating gut microbiota and/or food components would allow to diminish their prevalence, save the use of drugs, and understand the involved mechanisms.

Tools we use to investigate skin concerns and help your overall well being:
- Facial Mapping (Facial Diagnosis) is a Chinese Medicine Practice that correlates different sections of your skin to different organs and body systems to find imbalances that affect the skin such as stomach, kidneys, small intestine, etc. We use this in conjunction with our other methodologies.
- Lymphatic Drainage Facial Massage – Detoxifies, increases circulation, reduces puffiness and calms your parasympathetic system. Your parasympathetic system focuses on rest and repair; giving you time to connect to yourself without stress or distraction.
- Holistic Nutrition is the practice of taking into account the needs of an individual; physically and emotionally. We look at our clients skin through a lens of overall wellness using principles of holistic nutrition.
- We use our intuition! We sense your energy; tailoring a facial treatment for you; with calming scents, warmth, and music that taps into your parasympathetic system.
Why Crave Aesthetics is so passionate about helping others
Our owner Jessica suffered with skin reactions for years which were linked to stress, ptsd and long covid. These stressors caused a weakened immune system; therefore, she went on a journey of finding out how to heal within.
Jessica has also loved skincare for over 20 years with a focus on researching and understanding natural botanicals.
She combines her knowledge of health; in relation to the skin, and healing skincare in order to help others.
Through schooling, continual research and personal experience Jessica strives to use and grow her knowledge to help others so they do not have to struggle the same way she did.
Our society in general is overstressed and has a to-do list a mile long. It can be difficult to focus on self care; which we all need. Even focusing on simple things such as healthy consistent meals, water and sleep can be the key to healing your skin and body.
Let us help you feel calmness, peace and a sense that someone is in your corner.
We are here to guide you on your journey towards healthier skin.
If we feel there is anything outside of our scope of understanding we will do our best to find you an alternative practitioner to consult. We are not medical professionals so we cannot give medical advice. It is important you do your own research or consult with any physicians who are treating you if you have any questions in regards to any healthy living suggestions we provide.
We would love to see you and provide you with a strategy to focus on your skin concerns!
